On the day of the surgery, Dr Ayush will have a detailed discussion with you regarding wound care, pain management, and other aspects of after care.

You won't be sterile straight away. There will be residual sperms left in the upper part of vas deferens, beyond the vasectomy site.

It usually takes some time following the procedure for all the sperms to clear from your ejaculate. You will need to perform a semen test 3 months from the time of your vasectomy. Please use some alternate method of contraception until it is confirmed that you do not have any live or dead sperms in your semen sample.

You will be provided with a semen analysis form, including instructions on how to get this test done at least 3 months after the surgery.

Once the test is done, we will call you with the result within 24 hours.

You do not need to see Dr Ayush after the surgery. However, if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact him straight away.
